I love rats! Now I feel neglectful though.... mine never gets steak! (Neither do I, for that matter.)

Oh thank God I thought I was the only one who did this! They are all so damn adorable!

HNG I just want to cddle them. I'd love to have rats, but my mom would never let me :I
I didn't know rats could eat some of those things. I'm guessin each one went for their favorites?

Rats are able to eat a whole lot of things that would probably be bad for many other animals. =P Two of them went for the bread first, while the other went for shrimp, but they all eventually demolished their beautiful platters, haha.

Aw, look at all of the little ratty-sized portions! How sweet. Like little Christmas rat bento boxes.

And I love how they all picked out their favourite foods first. My two girls have the same favourite food: whatever the other one is currently eating.

That's always how it is, isn't it? x) Pepper and Stone grabbed pieces of bread first, but Snicker went after the shrimp! After the shrimp though, he kinda turned into a robot - Nibblenibble, drop food, turn, grab new food, turn back, and repeat. There ended up being a bunch of half-eaten food all in one little pile outside the dish. =P

Did your critters get anything special for Christmas? ^^ And how about yourself?

Sorry for the late reply! We went to Quebec last week, so I'm just now finally checking my messages.

Ha ha, my rats do the nibble, drop, nibble, drop, too... unless there is something that they reallly love. My guys had BBQ rib bones and larvets for Christmas: [link] They also got a new hammock and a bunch of those gachapon capsules. You know those gachapon machines (I think that's what they're called) that have little toys in plastic capsules? I buy the toys just for the capsules. One of my girls (Eos) goes absolutely apeshit if I put some treats in one and give it to her. She takes it and spends five or ten minutes violently assaulting it until it opens. She's so predatory for a rat! Her sister Nyx just sort of rolls them around and then waits for Eos to open them for her.

We bought our Christmas gifts early! My partner got a kit to build a 3-D printer, and I got a new TV. And then we went to Quebec for a few days on vacation, our first one in almost five years! So it was a good Christmas. :D

Did you get anything cool, or at least get to have some relax time?

Man, sounds like the whole family got a great haul. :D Really the only other thing the ratties got was a pirate ship hammock really meant for ferrets. It came with a small flag to go in the prow of the ship, and a little ferret pirate shirt. x) It's too funny! The boys are really enjoying it.

The biggest wins for me were a printer/scanner from my parents, a Chestburster Alien plush from my friend, and a scrub top with a hand-stitched rat over the breat pocket from my auntie. :D There were various other gifts as well, but I'm inclined to say those were the ones that I yayed about the most, hehe.

It's really neat that you guys got to go somewhere new - and have some downtime to boot!
